of any negro's supposed to be the property of any gentle-
-man They say that their is a Doctor Rowen of that place who says he will at any time give any assistance that may be in his power; They also say that they had several gentlemen named to them residentes of Maryland who's negro's were at this settlement of negros, but do not recollect of hearing of your name among then number. Mr. E. Blackiston has been my informer and has been very urgent on me to make this communication, as he is much induced to believe that your negro's are at that place, This correspondence perhaps may induce you to have some communication whereby you may meet with usefull intelligence on the subject; and should it be the cause of your obtaining any infor- mation that may be proffitable to you I shall be much gratifyed that its design is Complected I am yours very respectfully William Duhamel |
